I can honestly say that I am afraid of people. My fear of what other people think has sometimes stopped me from speaking my truth, living my truth and being authentically me.
And at this point in my life, I am sick and tired of worrying about what other people think. My fearful obsession of other people has created a reality for me that isn’t even mines. I am literally living in someone else’s box. I can’t step beyond the borders because I‘m afraid of being judged, criticized and shamed for making a mistake.
Now what kind of life is that-
It isn’t much of a life.
So, how do I get over this fear? How do I stop shrinking in the presence of others?
Will Smith once said in an interview, there is a redemptive power in making a choice… Just decide what it’s going to be, who you’re to be and how you’re going to do it and the Universe will move out your way.
Mahatma Ghandi so eloquently said, “Your beliefs become your thoughts. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions.”
I realized I must make a conscious choice to believe something different. Other people’s opinion of me does not have to become my reality (-Les Brown).
And when I really think about the fear I experience, I realize it isn’t real. It is a story I am telling myself based on what I think people are going to say. I talk myself out of doing what I know I should do, because of these false narratives.
Intellectually I know fear is just False Evidence Appearing Real. I mean I’ve heard the acronym more times than I can count.
It’s funny how you know the right thing to do but you don’t always apply what you know. Sometimes you just get caught up in the bullshit of life and must find your way back. I just need to find my way back; this fear is just a temporary thing.
Before Sodom was destroyed an old man visited the town. He walked around trying to encourage the people to change their ways but not a soul would listen.
So, he decided to make a sign. In big bold letters he wrote the word “Repent.” He carried the sign day and night but again the people refused to listen.
So, he decided to take a more drastic approach. He ran up and down the streets yelling, “Repent! Repent! What you’re doing is wrong! If you don’t stop, you will die!” Again no one listened. Yet, he didn’t stop. He kept on running and yelling, “Repent!”
Finally, a local man stopped him on the street and asked, “Can’t you see no one is listening.”
The old man replied, ” Yes, I know.”
Confused the local man asked, “So, why on earth do you keep yelling?”
“At first I tried to change the people, now I run up and down the streets yelling so they don’t change me.”
A cosmic cleansing is a spiritual cleansing of your energetic body. Why is it important? As an energetic being you are constantly interacting with other energetic beings. Hence, you are exchanging both positive and negative energy. Unfortunately, the negative or “dirty energy” becomes a part of your energetic field as well as the positive.
Sometimes you create the negative energy within yourself. This happens when you hold on to negative thoughts, beliefs, and emotions for a sustained period.
Dirty energy causes prana or life force energy to become stagnate. Hence, your chakras cannot properly function. If the energetic body is not healthy, it will manifest in your physical body as fatigue, stress, anxiety and in extreme cases a chronic illness.
A cosmic cleansing three or four times a week will help to detoxify your energetic body. If you work in a highly stressed environment (hospital, prison, court, school) you may want to cleanse every day. The energy you bring home not only affects you but your family.
Cleansing your energetic body balances your chakras helping you to feel relaxed, and revitalized. Your aura is also strengthened therefore increasing your energetic vibration and connection to your higher self.
Releasing negative energy with sage is a simple yet powerful ritual. Like any spiritual ritual you must be intentional. Be aware of the energy you want to clear as you cleanse.
What emotions, thoughts or beliefs do you want to release?
If you are unsure you can tell the sage to, “Disintegrate and transmute any negative emotions, thoughts and beliefs preventing me from connecting to my higher self.”
So how do you smudge with sage? Light the sage and allow it to burn until there is a good amount of smoke. Starting at the crown chakra or the top of your head allow the smoke to engulf all parts of your body. Think of the sage as spiritual soap. When you are cleansing your physical body you clean your face, chest, back, arms, legs, feet etc. Do they same with the sage.
Cleansing with salt is another simple yet powerful ritual you can use to cleanse. This may be a little off topic, but holy water is salt water that has been prayed over by a priest which means these two elements are sacred.
Using salt scrubs is my personal go to, whenever I need a cosmic cleansing. It is not only detoxifying to the physical body but the energetic body as well.
To create your salt scrub, you will need Epsom or Himalayan Pink salt, olive oil , essential oils and a coffee grinder. Please adjust the measurements and oils to create a scrub that suits your personal taste.
1 cup of salt (Grind Epsom or Himalayan Pink salt to a fine powder)
1/3 cup of Extra Virgin Olive oil
5 drops of lavender
2 drops of tea tree
Other great oils: spikenard, hyssop, frankincense, myrrh
So how do you use the salt scrub to cleanse? Cleanse your physical body as normal. Once you are done, begin cleaning your body with the scrub. Do not forget the bottom of your feet and do not use the scrub on your face. Remember to be intentional as you cleanse. Last, stand under the shower and allow all the dirty energy to go down the drain.
Since I have been using these rituals to clean my energetic body, I have experienced greater joy, clarity of thought and heightened intuition. I even look and feel younger. So, giving my spiritual body a little cosmic TLC has been a blessing.
I know it will be for you as well.🙏🏽
What emotions, thoughts or beliefs will you intentionally clear?
In Bushwick, Brooklyn there is a street my grandmother labeled as “Funky Broadway.” I’ve never understood why she chose the word “funky” until I experienced Broadway for myself.
The street has a very musty and unpleasant smell. One could say it is because of the men and women that hang around the meth-clinic, who unapologetically leave their garbage and bodily waste on the street.
But cosmically speaking the stench is in the air because the people are spiritually dead. In the spiritual realm they are the Walking Dead. These beautiful souls are walking around aimlessly unaware of their light and cosmic purpose. Their consciousness has been hijacked. Hence, they have unconsciously separated themselves from their oneness with God. Yet, it is not entirely their fault.
Truth is our subconscious mind is being controlled and our beliefs are being shaped. We are led to believe sex and drugs are liberating. We are led to believe we must look and behave a certain way to be loved. We are led to believe that if our lives don’t look like “This”, we are failures. We are led to believe that competition instead of cooperation leads to success.
Essentially what the programming wants us to believe is that we are limited and fragmented beings. That we must do something outside of ourselves to be complete.
Unfortunately, we unconsciously listen to the programming and we fill our lives with clothes, cars, relationships, food, social media likes stuff and more stuff. Problem is when we get these things; we are still not fulfilled. So, we want something more or something better.
Hence, a continuous cycle of unhappiness is perpetuated in our lives. We get caught in the Matrix of life. We become the Walking Dead because we do not know why we are doing what we are doing, even though we think we do.
We become human doings instead of human beings. We are constantly trying to do or have something so we can be something.
However, as human beings, we are given free will. Free will allows us to make conscious choices. And we can choose to live in oneness with God.
Within the realm of oneness, we become aware that we are not limited, fragmented beings but are expansive beings with unlimited potential.
This connection with the cosmic vibration of God allows us to remember that we are the happiness we seek. That we are the love we seek. That we are the wealth we seek.
This remembering frees us from the control of the Matrix. Hence, we are not easily manipulated by the programming. We make conscious decisions about how we want to live our lives, and we understand why we are doing what we do. Our lives become shaped by our cosmic purpose.
Because we must still live within the constructs of the Matrix, it is important that we make time for spiritual self-care. Prayer, meditation, and connection allows us to stay grounded in oneness. It is the source of our happiness and spiritual well-being.
Prayer is a very personal experience between the person praying and the Divine Father. It is a gift he has given to us so we can invoke his presence for guidance, protection, and, healing. It is how we activate and become aware of our cosmic connection to life force energy.
There is no right or wrong way to pray. There is no specific time of day you need to pray. My personal advice to you is pray whenever you need to speak or be surrounded by the love of God.
Prayer is our way of speaking to God and meditation is our way of listening and receiving his cosmic blessings. As we meditate, we connect to universal love, wisdom, and healing. This energy cleanses our spiritual bodies of low vibrational beliefs and emotions. Our cosmic auras become brighter because we are vibrating at a higher spiritual frequency.
Before you say, I can’t meditate. I want to say to you, meditation takes practice. The more you practice, the better you will become. Below is a simple meditation you can try using your five senses.
🧘🏽♀️Begin by focusing your attention on a beautiful person or place. Think about the following questions as you close your eyes and breathe.
🔹What do you see? 🔹 How do you feel? 🔹What do you smell? 🔹 What sounds do you hear? 🔹 What do you taste? 🔹 What sensations do you feel in your body? 🔹 Where do you feel these sensations?
Be present, breathe and just be.🌻
We are all at different levels in our journey, so it behooves us to surround ourselves with like-minded people. Being in community with one another allows us to connect, learn, and grow as conscious beings.
The great thing about living in oneness with God is you will attract the people you need in your life. Just wait patiently for their arrival.
At some point in our lives we have all been spiritually dead. Some of us have awakened and some of us are still walking around aimlessly trying to figure life out and that’s ok. Where you are on your journey, is where you are supposed to be. Just don’t stay in one place too long. Ascension and transcendence should be your goal.
Ascension is connecting to your higher self. And as you are moving upward in consciousness you are transcending or becoming more enlightened.
Within the realm of oneness, you are given the tools and strategies you need to keep yourself grounded in the light and free of the Matrix. Simply be willing to be guided.
How will your life change when you become spiritually awakened?
How will you stay connected to God?
How often will you pray and meditate?
What kind of people will you attract because you are living a cosmic life?
I remember as a young adult sitting in the church pews in awe of the parishioners who courageously shared their stories of pain. I connected to pieces of their stories and in doing so, I didn’t feel like I was the “only one” who was dealing with issues of self-worth.
I appreciated their willingness to share a part of themselves most people would hide. It was their willingness to be vulnerable that allowed me to be introspective and examine the “whys” of my life.
Why did I lack confidence? Why was I afraid of what people thought of me? Why did feel like I did not matter? Why was I insecure about my thin frame, and dark skin? Why did I feel unworthy?
I did not become aware of my worth until I began to connect with God. When I knew God, I understood the truth. And the truth was, I did not feel worthy because I did not know who I was.
The Koran says, “The truth has come, and falsehood has vanished.” When I opened my heart to the truth which is God, my journey of cosmic healing and self-transformation began. I no longer wanted to live my life from a state of false beliefs and wounded thinking.
Of course, it was not an overnight transformation and it wasn’t a cheap transformation either. But when you want to heal the wounded parts of yourself, you invest “in yourself.”
I was remined of the scripture, Romans 12:2, “… be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” I knew if I wanted to transform my life, I had to do something.
Hence, I spent thousands of dollars on personal coaching, therapy, and self-development seminars to heal my cosmic ignorance. I surrounded myself with like-minded people, read books and engaged in spiritual practices to help me stay grounded. With time, I began to love and value myself on a cosmic level.
Tau Malachi, says in his book, Living Gnosis, “… knowledge of self leads to divine illumination.” Liberating my mind through coaching and therapy allowed me to live my life from a higher state of cosmic consciousness. I became aware of who I was in the the eyes of God; A conscious being of light.
I was empowered by this “knowing” and I ‘ve learned to tap into this beautiful vibration within to create a magical life for myself.
Of course, my journey has not been free of breakdowns. I’ve had to overcome relationship, financial and emotional challenges. However, I’ve learned breakdowns are essential to the healing process. So instead of having an emotional fit, whenever something goes wrong in my life, I learn the cosmic lesson and move on. And I always remember at the other end of the tunnel miraculous breakthroughs are waiting.
If you are ready to begin your cosmic journey of healing, take some time to answer the questions below. Have a notebook and pencil handy so you can write down what shows up for you. Be aware of what you see, feel, and hear. Be honest with yourself and allow the truth to be revealed. If you feel it’s necessary, seek the support of trained practitioners to help you transmute those negative thoughts and feelings. This is beginning of a beautiful journey of light for you.
What are my fears? Surrender your fears to the Universe. Let them go.
What do I blame myself for? What do I feel guilty about? Accept that these things happened and forgive yourself.
What are my disappointments? Accept all aspects of who you are. There is no failure there is only feedback.
What am I sad about? Let the pain go. Focus on happy, joyous moments. Smile and feel the love.
What lies have I told myself? Release the lies and create empowering I am statements. I am a radiant and divine being, and there is healing power within me. I am successful in all that I do and nothing is impossible for me.
